Where the ASN04 Fits
The ASN04 is a block-form inductive proximity switch, 18 x 18 x 36 mm, rated at 5 mm +/-10% against a standard SPCC iron plate of 18 x 18 x 1 mm. The nickel-plated brass housing with ABS sensing face carries IP67 and a 2 m cable.
The square body exists for mounting situations a threaded cylinder does not suit: bracket mounting, tight lateral space, or replacement footprints on existing machinery that already carries a rectangular sensor well.
Like every non-flush type in this catalog, it detects magnetic metal with reduced distance on non-magnetic targets, and it needs free space around the sensing face plus spacing from neighboring sensors.
Detection and Electrical Performance
Detection behavior: setting distance 0-5.5 mm, differential travel at or below 10% of range, and a 1 kHz response on DC types (50 Hz on AC) - the faster DC response in this catalog's small-body inductive class.
Electrical fit: DC 12-24 V nominal (6-36 V absolute) or AC 110-220 V (90-250 V, 50/60 Hz); consumption at or below 13 mA on three-wire types and 0.8 mA on two-wire DC; control output up to 200 mA across the matrix.
Protection and environment: reverse-connection, surge absorption and load short-circuit protection on N/P/D types, 1000 V AC 1-minute withstand, 50 megohm or better insulation, rated -30 to +65 °C at 35-95% RH.

The matrix mirrors the ALJ12 family: DC NPN NO/NC/NO+NC as ASN-04N1, /N2 and /N3; PNP as ASN-04P1, /P2 and /P3; two-wire DC as ASN-04D1 and /D2; AC two-wire as ASN-04A1 and /A2.
